Amanda Bernard, PMHNP-BC

Owner & Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Amanda Bernard, PMHNP-BC, is the owner of Veda House and a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over a decade of experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care. She earned her nursing degree from SUNY Adirondack, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SUNY Plattsburgh, and a Master of Science in Nursing from The Sage Colleges. Her professional background includes clinical roles at Four Winds Hospital, Glens Falls Hospital, Saratoga Hospital, and several community-based and startup mental health organizations.

Amanda’s approach to care is integrative, humanistic, and collaborative. She prioritizes truly being present with clients, explaining diagnoses and treatment options in clear, approachable ways, and blending evidence-based psychiatric care with openness to holistic and alternative modalities. She holds specialized training in ADHD assessment and treatment, EMDR, medication-assisted treatment with Suboxone, ketamine-assisted therapies, and Reiki, and enjoys working with adults with ADHD, individuals with somatic or autoimmune conditions, and women across all stages of family planning, pregnancy, and motherhood.

Amanda co-founded Veda House to create a space where clients feel valued, comfortable, and empowered rather than defined by a diagnosis. Guided by integrity, patience, and a deeply person-centered philosophy, her goal is for clients to feel heard, hopeful, and confident as they work toward greater independence and overall wellness. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, crafting, cooking, discovering new places to eat, and foraging in nature.
