ISN'T KETAMINE A TRANQUILLIZER? HOW CAN IT HELP WITH DEPRESSION AND OTHER MENTAL HEALTH CONDITIONS?

Ketamine is considered a dissociative anesthetic class of medication with an FDA schedule III designation. Ketamine operates on a receptor level as NMDA antagonist and regulate the availability of the neurotransmitter glutamate in the brain. Ketamine has been found to be helpful for treating depression even in individuals who have not responded to other interventions. It has a unique effect, in that it can work very rapidly, with individuals frequently seeing improvement in their symptoms within hours. Ketamine is also shown in studies to increase neurogenesis and increase neuronal connections, reducing symptoms and increasing mental flexibility.

IS KETAMINE SAFE AND WHAT ARE COMMON SIDE EFFECTS?

Like with any drug, supplement or substance, risks for side effects are always possible. Common side effects during treatment can include; rise in blood pressure, double vision, dream-like state, flushing or redness of the skin, loss of appetite, nausea, uncontrolled eye movements, unusually warm skin, urge to urinate and vomiting.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE AND HOW CAN I PAY FOR TREATMENTS?

We are currently not accepting insurance for services at this time. We can provide you a billing statement to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement of service. We can currently accept flex spending or health savings account (HSA) spending for payments.

WHAT ARE TREATMENTS AT VEDA HOUSE LIKE WITH KETAMINE?

After you are assessed to be a candidate for treatment, you will be set up with a two-hour appointment for treatment. you will fill out a pre-treatment screening before each treatment and will have your vital signs taken before your treatment can begin. You will be shown to your treatment room, provided amenities to make your experience comfortable, and adminstered the ketmaine

DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE A MENTAL HEALTH DIAGNOSIS TO BE TREATED AT VEDA HOUSE WITH KETAMINE?

Yes, documentation of DSM disorder is required and will be reviewed during the intake process.
